Winter Sunlight

Fic search?

So I'm up to 5x06 on NCIS (I need to write a post about it, because, despite certain issues with the show as a whole, I've enjoyed seasons 4/5 WAY better than I liked season 3), and you know what is cute as the dickens and pushing my fangirl buttons like whoa? McGee and Tony! I know there are quite a few NCIS fans out there on my flist, so does anyone know any good McGee/Tony h/c or friendship stories, or a good place to start looking for some? Abby/McGee would also be lovely. I'd take slash/ship with either of those pairs if you know of any good ones, but gen's what I'm really looking for.

Question me!

As seen various places around LJ (yeah, 'cause writing more blog posts is exactly what I need to be doing right now):

Everyone has things they blog about. Everyone has things they don't blog about. So ask me something you'd like to hear or are curious about, and I'll write a post about it. Ask for anything: latest movie watched, last book read, political leanings, thoughts on whatever, favorite type of underwear, questions about writing, etc.

Or more fannish questions.

(friendshipper adds: And the original instructions included this:

Repost in your own journal so that we can all learn more about each other.

but I figure that it kind of goes without saying that if you want to, you will, and if not, I'm sure as heck not going to tag you to do it!)

EDIT: Upon reflection, I thought I'd amend this a bit. What you're really doing is suggesting a topic for a blog post, right? So, rather than asking a simple yes-or-no question, think of it as ... borrowing me for a blog post on a topic of your choice. What do you want to hear me talk about? Politics? Gardening? Dogs? Feminism? Favorite books? Just point me in a direction, wind me up and watch me go! :D (I reserve the right not to answer a question if it's something I really don't want to talk about, though.)

Meme answers: How I got into fandom

wraithfodder asked:

How did you come to be in fandom and what do you like about it?

And how did all of YOU get into fandom? What was your first fandom? I'd say my first obsessive, "read every piece of fic" fandom was probably Stargate SG-1, back when there was only a season and a half of it! I never would have guessed, when I started falling out of that fandom, that I'd fall so obsessively into its sister fandom almost a decade later.

Meme answers: Books

madripoor_rose asked:

What are the five favorite books you'd recommend everybody read at least once?

Oh man. I'm always so embarrassed answering questions like this, because even though I read a ton of stuff, I think that this sort of question shows up how plebian and genre-focused so much of my reading has been! I'm not ashamed to admit that I loved a book, even one that's quite bad by objective standards, but saying "This is so good everyone SHOULD read it!" is a whole other kettle of fish. So, this is more like my top five books I've read and re-read, and it isn't even really my top five anyhow (because I don't think I can narrow it down that much, and I'm sure that as soon as I hit "post" I'll think of a half-dozen more), but they're at the top, anyway.
